The CDI-2 is a comprehensive, multi-rater assessment of depressive symptoms. Depressive symptomology is quantified by reports from children/adolescents, teachers and parents. The CDI-2 retains man of the essential features of its predecessor (CDI), and introduces a number of refinements. This updated version includes new items that focus on the core aspects of depression.

CDI-2 Scales

  • Emotional Problems
  • Functional Problems

CDI-2 Subscales

  • Negative Mood
  • Ineffectiveness
  • Anhedonia
  • Negative Self-Esteem
  • Interpersonal Problems

The full-length CDI-2 Self-Report Form is ideal when assessors require a more robust description of a child’s depressive symptoms. The CDI-2:SR is a 28-item scale that yields a Total score, two Scale scores (Emotional Problems and Functional Problems) and four Subscale scores.

The CDI-2 Self-Report Short Form is an efficient screening measure that contains 12 items, and takes about half the time to administer (5-10 minutes). The CDI-2:SR(S) has excellent psychometric properties, and yields a Total score that is comparable to the full-length version.

The CDI-2 Parent and Teacher Forms consist of items that correspond to the Self-Report version, but are slightly rephrased. Item selection for the Parent and Teacher forms was guided to maximize validity, and were focused on observable manifestations of depression.

Paper-and-Pencil CDI-2 Forms can be administered and scored using the QuikScore Format. The external layers of he form, and the results, transfer through to a hidden scoring grid, within the internal layers, used for tabulating results. Each QuikScore Form includes conversion tables, which convert raw scores to T-scores. Scoring Software, sold separately, is used with the Paper-and-Pencil Form information.

Revised CDI-2 scales are more reliable and valid, and have new norms that are representative of the U.S. population. Also updated and enhanced are the normative samples of the Parent and Teacher Forms.

The CDI-2 Software Kit includes 25 each of the Self-Report Response Forms, Self-Report Short Response Forms, Parent Response Forms and Teacher Response Forms, Software Scoring Installation and a Manual.

The CDI-2 Hand-Scored Kit includes 25 each of the QuikScore Forms for Self-Report, Self-Report Short, Parent and Teacher, and Manual. Forms also sold individually in packages of 25. Report Forms with S suffix are for use with Software Kit. QuikScore Forms (Q suffix) are for paper-and-pencil scoring.
